[Avid-L2] Ingesting/Importing 10801/59.94 media to a 1080p/23.976 project

 

Question - we need to bring in a show rough cut that has been delivered via HDCAM SR tape (which means its a 1080i/59.94 source) into a 1080p/23.976 project.
Whats the best method that will minimize motion issues - should I create a QT first and then flip that using MPEG Streamclip or Compressor ? OR, am I better off doing a normal import and then transcoding inside of MC ??
