[Avid-L2] Re: Project won't launch from desktop?

Funny you should mention that. I have found twice now when I install 5.5.3 that when the computer restarts as per Avid install norm when it boots back up I can't change the name of the startup drive on the desk top. When I try to change the name I get an error message that reads :

"The name "disk name here" can't be used.
Try using a name with fewer characters, or no punctuation marks.

I am just typing in something like "Untitled" and I get that error. When I go to disk utility the drive name is listed as "/" no " marks. This sounds like the problem you are describing. Now I didn't type a "/" at all and if I go to startup disk in System Preferences it lists the disk as Untitled but it still reads with the original name I had on the drive. WTF I've repaired permissions and this seems to have happened on an upgraded drive and a clean install on a different drive. When I boot to another startup disk the problem drive name can be changed and it is reflected in disk utility properly but when I boot to the problem drive the naming problem is messed up again and once again in disk Utility the drive name is "/" not the name I see on the desk top. Weird?

It opens the project fine when it is in a folder on the desktop. This didn't happen on the 6.0.1.1 system and this drive is a carbon copy clone of that drive before any Avid was installed. Curious if others have seen this one.
