Red Rocket with Avid MCsoft 5.5 follow up
I don't think my original question about MCsoft and red rocket posted but I've found some threads supporting the red rocket for Avid mcsoft but only with local storage. They mention Unity and Isis etc... What about the sanmp I work on. It isn't shared storage but a san with only one station having read/write access at a time. For the purposes of Red Rocket and Media Composer soft 5.5 would the sanmp be considered local storage? It says the Red Rocket only effects transcodes at full debayer so I assume it wouldn't have any effect on transcoding to 10:1 sd media when it is suggested to use 1/8 or 1/16 debayer to speed up the transcode. Anybody know if the Red Rocket would really help transcoding to the offline 10:1 media using the full debayer setting compared to doing the same transcode set to 1/8 debayer.?
