Hey guys,
Hope you can help me with this one. I haven't spent much time troubleshooting this. I went in last night for a quick meet and greet on a project and noticed some quirky behavior on the Avid and couldn't figure out the solution.
#1 Footage brought in from Sony EX 3: long clips (this specific one was 30+ mins) wouldn't play video on a 1080i 59.94 project. The original footage from what I could tell is 1080p 29.97. Odd right? Plays fine in a 1080 29.97 project, completely black on the other one.
#2 in a 1080 59.94 project there's substantial moire not so much in the 1080p 29.97
System is a Mac Pro Quad Core Intel, 2.8 Ghz 16G ram
Running through a Matrox mini to convert display.
Thinking this is a video card issue?
#3 Matrox mini doesn't play back 1080 29.97 wtf?
#4 when bringing in 29.97 footage into the 59.94 timeline, there's a green dot on the footage. Is this because of the progressive/interlaced situation?
What would be best practice for this? Project is a doc and all kinds of formats and mixed rates, including PAL.
I appreciate any help.
Anna
