I did some tests a while back and made a cable and it worked on mc soft 3.1 and SNDX 4.0.5. I was able to control one avid from another and even control the avid from a Sony deck. I didn't do anything but test to see if it worked so there may be some gotcha and hiccups I didn't run into.
