Avid native FORMATS like xdcam and dvcpro hd will not need the actual qt codec if you AMA it because it bypasses it. In QT player it will be a white screen but will be fine inside the Avid via AMA. Consolidating from here will allow you to extract the raw stream and work in native Avid MXF.

Avid DVD does not have this capability does need the QT engine thus QT codec to process the file.

Avid DVD should be able to play the Avid files if you installed the Avid PE codec package. The LE version does not have the Avid Xdcam QT codec.

After the edit was finished, I did a Send To DVD Authoring to go to Avid DVD. The project came up with the Calibrated Q watermark in the Sonic software even though it was not present in the Symphony. A mixdown of the Symphony sequence fixed this but what is the deal?
