I also recently had a (still unresolved) problem with Sorensen (v6) not encoding MP3's. When I selected MP3 from the format list, I got an error message telling me that I needed to download the (free) MP3 codec from the Sorensen website (which is weird, since I already have the MP3 codec.
Anyway, I went and downloaded it, with the following install instructions:
To activate the MP3 Plug-in:
Windows:
With Squeeze open go to Edit>Preferences...>Plug-ins>Available Plug--ins
Choose MP3
Under Plug-in Licensing enter a user name
License: (serial number listed below)
Click Activate
I followed those instructions, but when I clicked on Available Plug-is, the list was empty.
I ended up doing my export via Adobe Soundbooth.
Any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve Pomerantz

I ended up re-installing squeeze and quicktime, then re-associating mp3's with quicktime and it started encoding mp3's again. It was strange and a big PITA to figure out.
