Job Posting Title Manager, Broadcast Technical Services
Job Description The Broadcast Technical Services manager is directly responsible for leading a team of 7 technical staff supporting internal business units of the Disney ABC Television Group. The position reports to the General Manager of Broadcast Network Engineering. The manager is responsible for the day to day activities of the department, schedules technical staff to support client operations and coordinates troubleshooting, resolution and reporting activities. The manager oversees monitoring, performance and availability of technical systems across an extensive range of technology including the broadcast, media and network disciplines. The manager is responsible for all aspects of maintenance and support, scheduling preventative maintenance, contact and vendor management, budgets and other activities required to properly maintain equipment, applications and systems.
Responsibilities • Manages the Broadcast Technical Services department and staff.
• Leads and directs a team that supports department and clients technical systems.
• Oversees staff that identify, diagnose, and resolve user and system problems.
• Operates ticketing and alerting systems to communicate status and resolutions.
• Ensures systems availability via monitoring and analysis tools.
• Develops and implements standards, policies and procedures regarding equipment operations and maintenance.
• Manages and plans support of technologies, their performance and reliability.
• Manages hardware and software inventory of equipment, acquisitions, installations and repairs.
• Participates in strategic, tactical and contingency planning to maintain operations.
• Prepares status reports.
• Supervisory responsibilities of technical staff
Basic Qualifications Work Experience- 5 Years as an operations manager supervising teams in postproduction, broadcast or information technology performing installation, repair, and/or maintenance or technical equipment
Skills & Abilities-Scheduling, budgeting, written reports, write and speak clearly and concisely, maintain working relationships with management and peers, work under pressure, supervise effectively, plan and forecast
Preferred Education Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, electrical engineering, or a related field.
Licenses & Certifications:
Cisco Certifications, Avid Certifications, Final Cut Certifications, NLE editing systems, TCP/IP networking or NAS and SAN storage
Required Education Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, information systems, electrical engineering, or a related field.
