I will simply say "buyer beware" on the AE templates they're giving away. I bought them and encountered some of the projects had employed illegal values with effects like Motion Tile-meaning you could do a RAM preview or render the project at less than full resolution and not have a problem-but then when you did a full on HD render, the render would stop due to the illegal value. I had to get into a lot of back-and-forth emails with the AE designer who created the templates to come up with workarounds.

Subject: [Avid-L2] Footage firm give-away stuff
What's the deal with these guys giving away graphics stuff? I'm sure they get our emails from user's groups, so someone here probably has tried it. Is there a 'scam' or catch? Is it actually useable material? I'm not sure I'd pay for 'digital juice,' but I have certainly used the backgrounds I got for free for industrial-type presentations and stuff.
Any practical experience info would be great.
