I was later than that, Version 2.something, a Mac IIfx, with an internal drive which we expanded to ONE GIGABYTE. Media was stored on Panasonic flopticals, 500mg on each side. I was an assistant, and half my job was moving media around so the editor could play the sequence without constantly having to stop and flip the optical to the other side. It crashed and crashed and crashed, and another part of my job was logging each crash, when it occurred, what I was doing at the time, etc.

That damn button was up there on the console taunting me the whole time...

That's where I started.
600 mb scsi 1 drives and a Mac II.
TrueVision Vid/IO.
Brings back memories of crashing every 10 minutes.
