I quoted and linked to the source on the blog post http://www.philiphodgetts.com/?p=3997 because I always cite sources (in the blog, which is where my real thinking happens)

http://investing.businessweek.com/businessweek/research/stocks/financials/drawFiling.asp?docKey=136-000089684111000022-3C27VVKJ1SINB6595AU44VLBCO&docFormat=TXT&formType=10-K

But that may not link - seems to always go to Bloomberg's home page. Search for Avid, March 2011 10-K filing and search for" video-editing products" and you'll find my quoted piece:

"Sales of professional video-editing products accounted for approximately 13%, 13% and 14% of our consolidated net revenues for 2010, 2009 and 2008, respectively."

You've stated that but provided no substantiation, so at this point it's an unsubstantiated assertion.

More old school thinking :). Every book I write and self publish makes me a very, very decent hourly rate on the work I put into them. Getting published via an old school publisher is for minimum wage thinking.

> However, I have landed consulting and training gigs from those books that more than makes up for it, so even though my book earnings are a miniscule portion of my annual income, they actually end up generating something close to half of my income incidentally. (Please don't tell my publisher though, or they'll ask me to pay them for writing the next book.)

Guess what, I get all that benefit *and* make good money on the writing.

If you're still publishing through an old-school publisher, yes.
