[Avid-L2] Re: Making great products to serve professionals is our lifeblood

 

Avid's per seat cost to schools is the same as to a student - $295. However, the student gets 4 years of free upgrades, schools don't (but schools can buy a support contract). When I was teaching we bought 10 new licenses of Media Composer and 10 upgrades and the reseller gave us a bulk discount. I think it was 10% off, which was nice.

It's a lot cheaper than Adobe, and about the same as FCPX.
