Re: [Avid-L2] 23.98 to 29.97 workflow question

Thanks Dom,
Don't have Symphony - so I guess tape to tape it is.

I know how to set the anchor point on the D5 - but I'll admit that I don't know how I'd do this on a Digibeta deck. (is this necessary?)
I've set the D5's anchor point to be 01:00:00:00
I just essentially play back the D5, and crash record on the digi. This looks good - but has given me mixed results with the timecode.

I looked around online for some help and came across this post: http://lfhd.net/2008/10/22/timecode-calculator/
I downloaded it - and it doesn't seem to convert like I expect at all.

I punch in 00:01:30:00 in 29.97DF and then change to 23.98 (drop?!) and get an answer of 00:01:52:12 which really, really confuses me.
I can't figure out how I'd use this to get my in and out lining up on the tape at all.

Assuming I want the following:

IN : 1:00:00:00
OUT: 1:01:29:29

IN: 1:03:00:00
OUT: 1:04:29:29

and so on - how would I figure out where those need to fall in 23.98 time code? Seems like this software needs a similar 'anchor point' setting?

(maybe I'm missing something obvious)

Jeff
