Neat trick I learned on here a while ago (hope it still works in v5):
If you have a P&Z effect and don't know the source file, pull out the clip as a subsequence into a new bin. Save the bin. Then open this bin file in a text editor. If you look carefully there is a file path contained in the code garbage. That's your original file.
Saved my arse once or twice that one.
And I spent the time saved hunting down the offline guy and banging his head on the desk while chanting "put the correct reference clip under the Pan & Zoom" :)
