Dylan,
I have a customer trying this 'trick' at the moment and EDL Manager is not bringing the filenames across - it either just sits there and gives AX as the source name or it pulls in the clipname instead. They have tried doing the CTRL+D of filename to the camroll column.
What version of EDL manager were you using to do this?
Cheers
Stuart

Unfortunately none of the comments options were giving me anything useful either (seems to be a symptom of the subclipping)
Relinking to the master clips might have helped, but Job's trick with duplicating the metadata from another column (in this case the RED-specific
"Filename") into Camroll worked perfectly.
And thanks for your willingness to dash off and code up a script :) Probably wouldn't have been necessary I've got one somewhere (from the bad old days of RED in Avid) and also I believe Resolve (or maybe Pablo) can conform from the comments anyway :)
Cheers,
Dylan
