Or SDI, or DVI with SDI to DVI conversion (HDLink etc...).

I'm pretty sure the first wave of 24p monitors were SD intended to
display 24p DVD natively. Although marketers have always called
480p24 an "HD" format arguing that it has higher temporal resolution
(which is mathematically crap BTW).

While I would not be shocked if both RED and HDCAM SR could shoot
24.00 (for film sync) as well as 23.98 , it strikes me as a dangerous
choice. I remember one speaker at a SMTPE conference not so long ago
stating flatly there is no such thing in 24.00 in NTSC video.

So am I totally out of the 24p loop? Are people shooting and cutting
24.00fps sync video? Why?

I see that 720p24.00 and 1080p24.00 are both on the SMTPE format
chart. Are these acceptable baseband signals over SDI?

Cheers,
