[Avid-L2] Red with DEVA

I know this is a ridiculous question, and really covers a lot of ground, but...

I have a project with RED 4K 1080p 23.98; 5.1 audio recorded on a Deva at 29.97. Eventually outputting to H264 for projection. Will be sending auio out for 5.1 mix. We have Symph V5, Z800, NitrisDX. Using AMA for Red files, importing the QT audio from Deva files. I did a quick sequence test, used Autosync, and everything seems fine. Transcoding worked great. But I'm concerned that I'm going to screw this up. I'm using Red for the first time, and Autosync for the first time, and separately recorded audio for the first time, plus recorded at a different frame rate from the video.

When I import the audio into the 1080p 23.98 project, do I need to keep the 29.97 TC, or convert it to 23.98?
When I transcode the sequence, do I need to do audio and video separately or together? If I do them together, it marries audio and video. Is that good or bad?
