Last month, I upgraded to MC4 after I bought the iMac, with the knowledge that when MC5 came out, I'd get a free upgrade. But I didn't register MC4 until last week, when I found I could not download the upgrade without having done so.
So when I installed MCS, it asked if I wanted to use my dongle and I said yes. But then it said I was not a licensed user. But my dongle had been upgraded when I installed MC4. The message said to contact an Avid rep, but it did not tell me who. So I called the sales and info line. The guy there told me I needed to register it. And when I did, that's when it told me about the double registration.
I definitely specified that I was registering MC5. So I am not sure what the problem is or how to get it solved.
