It happens every NAB. It'll die down in a week or so ;-)
As for the cost of DS, there have been several good suggestions about that
on the DS Forum of late, one of which was that DS Soft could be bundled with
every MC5 system. Unlikely to be something Avid will go for, but you never
know.
Avid might even invest some R&D in DS... Who knows.

It is a thought but having read the DS forum of late I would hate to the
legion of whiners. I barely survived it on the L a few years ago. Also a DS
is a bit pricey for my modest budget.
One hopes DS will get a major leap forward shortly.
