[Avid-L2] Re: NAB Scope Quest 2010

Got a good look at the Leader LV-5800. Nice unit but pricey in the ballpark of 15K so I was told. Of course there are all kind of options on configuration. The unit's quad display allows for multiple vectorscopes which is nice, and you can turn on I and Q axis display. Error logging but no way to log based on LTC. There is a extensive menu for setting alarm sensitivity and threshold levels.

A new twist on the Harris VTM rasterizer scopes, you can look at your sync reference on a waveform, even Tri-level, including the Vertical broad pulses. I was told this ability comes with the C level revision. I assume that is a firmware thing not a hardware upgrade. In all my excitment about seeing Tri-level I forgot to ask if you can have multiple vectorscopes. In the past the units I was on would not do that.

The black magic pocket scope display like the ultra scope but it is only USB 3 which doesn't bode well for macs unless somebody knows something I don't. I did wonder if anybody makes an express card to USB 3.0 adapter. Don't know if that would work given the software probably isn't Mac able, but I'm just guessing here. I did put in an ultrascope feature request to add I and Q axis display. Just like I did last year so I'm not holding my breath. Also the Ultrascope only allows one vectorscope display, it can be expanded but I'd like to have two available.
