Re: [Avid-L2] Remote desktop (win)

It works. I use it on Win and Mac all the time. Security is
controlled by our dedicated firewall, monitored and maintained by an
I.T. professional. We use a VPN connection to connect from somewhere
not in network and then use remote desktop within that tunnel. We
don't try doing anything other than FTP outside of a VPN connection.

So bottom line is you can do it and be very secure. As long as you
set it up properly. If you don't set your security up properly then
you are possibly increasing your risk. Or course any connection to
the outside is a risk, you just have to manage that risk. But I have
to say that being able to remote in is fantastic. It is one thing I
can point to and say with confidence that it makes my life better and
helps me really enjoy my job. And my marriage.
