Well, Meatacheater with an EDL gets you somewhere, as long as it's a really
simple edit..
But gamma shifts will be a pain.

On the subject of digital service station, i need one that has high speed
internet (FTP of about 5 gig) in Manhattan, in a week or two.
(and perhaps a half decent shooter, either with a simple Pal rig, or we
bring a prosumer Pal cam.)

Your only only other option for the sequence is EDL which sucks.

For the media, you can use Sebsky tools (if you can find it) to create an
ALE for recapture.

If you want to use the existing media, you can't beat the Duck!

Let me say that again, you can't beat the Duck for this workflow!
