For firewire capture, no Sony HDV deck has been reliable as the old M10.
All the others have been spotty at best in my experience.
We do use the Sony1500 reliably for both SD NTSC offline and HD online.
It performs as well as any other deck.

We use the 1500 or 'generic' template.
