[Avid-L2] Removing/reducing water drops on lens?

I haven't seen the video yet but a producer asked what to do about water drops on the lens, can they be removed or lessened.  I suggested depending on the nature of the shot and size of drops maybe clone tool or scratch removal like dust busting.  Without seeing it I don't know if that is viable.  Anybody got any approaches/ plug ins that might help?  Of course I've already suggested the "Reshoot filter" and handed the producer a lens tissue.  I think he wants to fix the video they already shot.  Perhaps it's time for me to use my own "smart ass" filter and shut up.
