[Avid-L2] Re: Remote desktop (win)

I'd suggest trying Team Viewer. It's free for an individual. We use it where I'm at now. We're all Mac but I'm pretty sure it's cross platform. Just this past weekend one of the AEs was copying files off a defective drive on one of our EVOs. When he was done we called him and he was able to create a video reference for me all from the comfort of his home computer/laptop. I have no idea about the security level it has but it can randomly generate a session code that the remote user enters to gain access or you can enter a permanent session code so as long as team viewer is running on the computer your trying to access you can log in using the fixed session code. If the computer is not turned on and running team viewer there is no way to access the computer so no security issue when not in use as far as I know. I don't think I had to do anything special to use it on my laptop when testing it at work. Definately worth a look.
