[Avid-L2] Issues Importing on an Adrenaline to work with Merridian on OS9

So here's the story:

We normaly work on Merridien OS 9, but use a PC Adrenaline (software only) to import, and export certain things due to the fact that it's alot faster. One day, we were importing a massive amount of music into our system using the Adrenaline. After a certain amount of files got in, some editors were starting to get kicked out of the Unity. At first it was only some, but then it was a complete crash. Everyone restarted and continued working, but it happened again after some time. When we looked at the files we were importing, we saw that the file count was over 1000 and proceeded to fix that. It seemed to have fixed the problem, but here's the kicker... When our tech support came over to make sure everything was fine, they told us the crash was due to the fact that we were importing on an Adrenaline and then reading the files on a Mac OS 9. That didn't seem to make a whole lot of sense since we've been doing this workflow for years and this is the first time this has happened. They said it had to do with the fact that the Adrenaline was wrapping the files with a code that made it hard for the OS 9 to read, hence the crash. Am I missing something, or does it seem kind of odd to anyone else?
