Well, we already know that "top name" acting talent does not return
value to movies. In fact, spending big $$ on name talent would seem to
be the least sensible approach to making money from movies. (I'd take
a day or so to find the research again.)

So, if top acting talent - billboard material - doesn't increase the
return (profit) on a movie, why would we assume that expensive talent,
maybe 20% better than the average, will return value.

That's the way it is now. The way it is now is no indicator for the
future.
