Re: [Avid-L2] Re: And Now a Word About Online Finishing

What he said. I do basic, documentary color correction, and I consider myself a documentary cutter. I have no interest in 50 layer timelines and real graphic design. Most of the people I know who go that deep have to do a lot of that in order to maintain their skills; if you spend your life compositing, how current are your other editorial abilities going to remain?
I know a great guy who does a lot of online. A local television station hired him to work on a local show where he had to mix as well as picture finish, and dude was rather lost. I don't think you have to advocate for limitations, but it's good to acknowledge them. Generally people like myself are best off developing one finishing specialty apart from their offline work, and leave the really deep stuff to the people who do nothing but.

none.
