I'm having some video playback issues with the 32-bit Training Edition of Avid|DS v10.2 The application will only load & scrub video content. It will not play the content back. The interface will display the current frame, and hold that frame when the clip is played. When playback is stopped, the viewer will update to the currently referenced frame.
No matter where I look, the only specifications I can find for DS refer to a turnkey Nitris system. I can't find any documentation for the training software which refers to approved benchmarks or off-the-shelf (laptop) computers. The training software only includes html files which refer to the software installation & Microsoft Loopback Adapter configuration procedures.
The host computer I'm using is a 1 Beyond 3817HD laptop, running 32-bit Windows XP Professional SP-3 with a Pentium IV 3.8 Ghz mobile dual-core CPU (pre "Core-Duo"/"Core2 Duo") and 3 Gb or RAM. It has an nVidia Quadro FX Go 1400 display adapter. The video drive is an on-board RAID0 SCSI drive. This computer also has Media Composer v3.5.4 installed, which runs with a first-generation MOJO. The MOJO is disconnected prior to launching the DS application.
I'm eager to solve this issue, so I can apply my energies toward moving up the steep learning curve DS has. Any help or constructive advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
