Hey Chip,

I would open Activity Monitor to see if anything is hanging the system while you close MC. If nothing, then I would create a new OSX User and launch Media Composer and then quit out and see if it still crashes.

If the problem goes away, completely rebuild your user settings (NO IMPORTING).  If it persists after that, try creating a new project and copying the bins from your old project into it to see if that makes it go away.

I have been seeing this issue (crashing on close) for so long, on so many versions and setups of Media Composer, I ignore it usually.
