I know my options for converting.  That was not my question.  I was more curious about the statement from the distributor that HD can not be 29.97.   It made me question their credibility.

Ok, you're in for a lot of fun if you want max  quality.

Since you've asked around here, I would advise you hire a specialist, or live with lower quality / high cost to get to 23.976.

It is all very simple, but if you don't know the basics, hire someone who does.
