Thanks everyone- a couple of restarts ended up resolving it. After I sent the post, I realised that all the modifiers had randomly been disabled. Strange, but fixed now.

Thanks for the tip about the new move clip feature, Ben. Just mapped it and found that if you hold down Alt as well that it will copy the clip. Great to be able to do this with a keyboard shortcut now.
