EDIT: Sorry... I've been off email for a few days, so I'm going through my messages today. I didn't originally see the other posts on this topic. But, hey the Blend-X tool is pretty cool if you guys haven't tried it yet.

There's also MDV which still works very well on Windows and Mac. It can collect all media associated with any project and move, copy, delete it however you like. And it's free. While your there, you should check out his Blend-X plug-in which gives us transfer/compositing modes in Avid. Also free.
