Jay,
I have zero personal experience but 1 minute of Google-Fu revealed this:
The pdf manual says:
Typically you can expect a range of between 1/2 to 2 miles. Poor installation can dramatically reduce that range.

Not even sure what to google for this. I keep getting wireless com systems as a return. But I'm maybe interested in some type of very low power AM transmitter that I can take the output of a mixer and send to a parking lot full of cars over their radios. Or other ideas like that.
Thanks,
Jay
