I've got an idea.
This is now the second thread that's been hijacked for implied or assumed political/religious/socio- reasons, and I don't mean to point fingers, but bouke, I believe you were behind both of them.
On this thread alone, 2 dozen off-topic e-mails in 2 days is WAY too much, whether it's wasting our professional time, or more importantly, our personal time.
Sure, I could have hit the "Mute this Topic" button, but then I risk missing important information if and when the thread righted itself.
So here's my idea:
Next time there's a perceived slight, how about one immediately takes it offline and approaches the other party directly? No need to involve the entire group. That's when you can discuss your "different views" or accidental misinterpretations. Clarify everyone's thoughts privately.
If after it's been discussed privately, there is still evidence of deliberate insult, or behavior specifically forbidden within the group, then bring it to all of our attention and we can rightly judge and vilify the accused party.
Just my 2 cents...
And yes, everyone needs to be careful, stay safe, and remain healthy!
