And define 'shared storage'.
What I ment:
In the dark ages, Avid would not use drives that were not 'Avid'.
Then the red baret brigade got the best of Avid, and Avid changed the policy, with the console 'alldrives' command.
Then, something else (memory fails here) network drives became supported.
However, there is still a difference. (Others, feel free to chime in here!)
Now, the only thing I 'think' is the case:
If you use an Iscsi mounted network drive, MC cannot / should not know the difference.
(I have no clue why you (have) spent a shitload of money on ISIS…)
For 'shared storage':
If multiple workstations work with the same media and the MDB's have to be updated / refreshed, it's different.
But, I don't think you get bitten by this kind / type of workflow issues, since you only do long form.
