Just to say we have had some difficult experiences going back and forward.. Often with weird things like audio plugin changes and media changes.. so it's not foolproof and is a real pain to fix...

Real world experience: demote works fine here going from my MC 2018.x to my employer's MC 6.5. Worked fine from MC 8.5 to MC 6 before. I run stand alone Windows, the other end is OSX and ISIS. One of the Avid's strenghts is projects compatibility across versions, I wouldn't demote It! ;-)
