I will do my best to stay in the solution but I just started to try the 2018.12.1 Titler+ using the read me. First the Titler+ box is not wacom pen friendly. If I use my wacom mouse and click on font size it highlights the box and I can type in a number. That makes perfect sense. If I tap with the pen which is set to "Click" just like the left mouse button is the results are iffy. Perhaps this is confusion with the scroll feature to adjust the parameter. A click on the mouse is solid but not the pen. Not sure if this is fixable and perhaps my muscle memory will adapt.
Next thing I hit clear all and get the big box. I tap somewhere in the box and type. The box surrounds the text, which seems right. Then I want to left, right or center justify the text so I hit those buttons and the text disappears I shrink down the monitor window to see if it's off screen but I don't see anything. Subsequently hitting the justification buttons will bring the text back sort of like a toggle but the text is always in the same position. Bottom line question how does one justify the text in the field box. It seems one I deselect the object and then reselect it the justify buttons move the entire text field but I can't seem to figure out how to justify the text inside the field. When I try to drag around the text it often only selects part of the text. What I want is a simple way to get the old title tool behavior where I get into text mode in an object and the hit cmd A to select all the text and then hit the justify button. I'm really struggling with the nomenclature. I would think if I click the select text button then the justify buttons would just justify that text but that is not the case. Any insight would be appreciated. The 2018.12 Titler+ seemed to justify the text normally after it was first typed but once I selected another object or layer or whatever I could never get back to justifying just the text.
Another confusion is after clearing all and getting the big box I click somewhere and start typing. The box surrounds the text but then if I click outside the existing box the box is expanded to include the new tap point. Now I have a box with a ton of blank spaces which is not what I intended. I'm wanting it to behave more like old title tool and when I click outside the box/field have it start a new object or would that be layer or would that be field. If I want to add a bunch of extra black space to a field I would prefer to hit return but perhaps this is just me. As has been said in Avid L2 the simplicity of the text vs object selection tool in classic Title Tool seems to be lost in this interface or I am just not grasping the architecture.
