True 30 fps is used in iPhone and a range of non TV cameras. Why shoot at 29.97 if you don't need to fit with TV. The Internet doesn't care and that's what true 30 fps is designed for.
Will US TV switch from 29.97 to 30?
And make all the archive content incompatible! And make all the current workflows and kit wrong? I can't see it happening.
As for 24fps it's only the US TV fps at 29.97 that makes 23.976 sensible. To those using 25fps 23.976 is more of a pain than 24fps
And the world isn't really 23.976 it's 24. That's what film has been using well before TV came along.
