Re: [Avid-L2] Re: Audio transfer from 35mm full coat needed

I believe this means full coat magnetic film - all audio no image. From what I recall from film school, back when a lot of news was shot on 16mm film, it would be shot on 16mm film with a magnetic strip on one edge for recording sound-on-film (instead of double-system style). The 16mm work we did used 16mm mag stock for audio, transferring the field audio recorded on 1/4" reel to reel tape to the 16mm (only 1 track).

Never worked in Film other than telecines transfers and Film School what does it mean to 35mm full coated?  I think I understand the 3 track part but not up one what  "full coated" means.

Anyone know who can handle this archival audio transfer? (Or would that be arcane?)

35mm full coated 3 track - about 10 reels (90 mins) transfer to .wav files. 3 discreet tracks all reels.

Recommendations appreciated!
