The higher price is for upgrading the MC to MC with Symphony, one time price.
There is now only one yearly license for MC (which includes the Symphony version), which is 299. I always buy mine via Videoguys.com, as they offer it cheaper, and let you use a discount code on top of that. Previously to this year, there was a separate yearly contract (same price as MC) for Symphony.

When I recently purchased the 99.00 symphony option on the 3rd dongle system I recall reading in threads the symphony option was a one time charge. Has that changed. I've been renewing the first two Symphony licenses for $299.00 for years. What's up ith the pricing?
