Re: [Avid-L2] OT HDCAM tape HANC TC PBS spec

This is what you need:

HDCAM closed caption setup:

(covered in the SRW-5500 Installation manual pages 1-24-1-26)

SHIFT/Diag to get into the maintenance menus. F8 Maint Exec/SHIFT.
F9 others check
ALT F1. (Meta Data)

F3 for HDCam

You should be in the NVRAM CTL menu.
ANC1 should be Line 009
DID should be 061
SDID should be 01
Press F1 (NVRAM CTL) key and "Save All Data".

EXIT/power off and then power back on - check that the data is retained…

You can find SR there too and I think that is similar (can't recall off the top of my head but it's more logical if I remember or maybe doesn't even need anything special set up)

Ah Ok that makes more sense..  And then how do we set that!

I can see the menu in "other"on a SRW5500  but the options are ANC1/ANC2/ANC3 nothing about VITC or LTC For each of these you can set a line number

So                                                        Line 1 Line 2 DID SDID

And then ANC 1/2/3

It's a mystery!

Thanks

just poor wording on the spec - should read: VITC on HANC portion of line 9(VANC)

In the PBS tech spec it says

Drop-Frame time-code per SMPTE EG-40:2002 must be present on VITC line 9 of the HANC and LTC on line 10of the HANC of HDCAM submissions.

I can't find anything anywhere that says whether this is presettable on an HDCAM or SR deck..

I can find VANC.. but HANC?

And how?!

Thanks
