Adobe Media Encoder has been my go to. Haven't touched Squeeze or Compressor in at least five years.
On an 8 core trash can Mac, AME blazes through encodes and I have been happy with the quality.
I don't use QT ref much anymore as I seldom transcode camera files to DNx prior to editing.
