I just tried on MC 6.5.4 but will be switching to MC 8.5.3 to test further. I seem to recall the variable bit rate was an issue for some media and that was addressed in later versions. I just don't remember if that was related to XAVC media. I can't keep track of all the moving targets with formats and ama linking and it always feels like I'm swimming up stream. The footage was supposed to be shot on an Arri Amira but a camera change at the last minute and voila we can't ama link.
I may use Adobe Media Encoder if ama doesn't work on my other startup drive. If this was shot on tape we'd be done. Oh well I can take my does of media Membah Berries and suck it up now. Hoping my other startup drive and Avid version will play nice.

What version of MC is your AE working in? Could this be a relative to the same bug infecting the Canon XAVCS footage in the most recent version of Composer?

I don't know how to check for that but the files will play in QT 10 player but not in QT 7. In QT Player 10 the info says AVC coding. Here it the info provided by Media Info. Can anyone point to any of this data that would indicate XAVCS. Is the fact that it is variable bit rate and indication it is XAVCS?Here is Media Info:General
