[Avid-L2] Re: UHD Evaluation / Color Correction Monitor???

What's your budget. 25 K will get you the Sony OLED which does 1,000 nits. If you are a big enough house, you might be able to get Dolby to "place" a Pulsar monitor which does 4,000 nits. Or you can use a good consumer set (though it will be large) that will probably do 650 nits.

What? You don't understand which is the proper level of nits to work with to get consistency? Oh you silly bird, consistency and reference standards are for pros. This is a consumer driven business now. :-/

If you had to pick today, what monitor / WFM would you buy to use for
evaluation and color correction of UHD / HDR material? If I had my

I might get to do that but I'm being told that waiting might not be an
option.

I'm currently using and happy with a Sony BVM D20F1U (yes, real glass)
and a Tek WVR 7100. Space is a bit of an issue but I think I can
squeeze a 30 or so inch monitor into the space where my Sony BVM
currently lives. That spot allows me to usually sit about 3' from the
screen with the option of rolling my chair to put my nose right on the
glass if I need to. Thoughts are welcome and appreciated. Thanks. --J.B.
