Re: [Avid-L2] "Invalid File Name" on Attempt To Import WAVs

Two questions:

- is the file inside a folder with a slash or other illegal character in the name? Move it out of there and try importing it from somewhere else.
- is your Media Creation setting pointing at a drive where you don't have permission to write?

I have a bunch of WAVs from the set, all files named something like this: 2-5-3AT01.WAV. However, when attempting to import them into MC (8.6.4) I get an error message that simply says "Invalid File Name", and the import aborts.

What the hell?

I've imported bajillion of WAVs and never had an issue. Any clues as to what might be going on here? I've tried both importing directly and linking, as well, but no joy. I've tried one file at a time, I've tried doing the whole batch at once. Nothing.

I'm on a 5K Retina iMac running OS 10.10.5. Any insights would be appreciated.

Thanks,

DD
