I have a MBP which I want to update from Yosemite (10.10.5) to Sierra, but I'm seeing the current download is 10.12.4. Of course I was a good boy and checked the Avid Version Matrix. It says MC v8.8.2 is OK'd for the OS that's one point release previous: 10.12.3
I can't imagine that the .4 release would cause an issue, but I thought I'd check in and see if anyone is running MC 8.8.x on OS 10.12.4 before I went and did anything.
