[Avid-L2] Re: Multiple APC UPS Failures overnight?

Well it appears to be load related because if I pull off all the load and unplug the ups and disconnect the battery briefly then it will power up.  But adding all the load seems to overload a single unit.  I assume that there are dual ups units that feed the 5 chassis unity medianet 5 so one ups for one chassis power supply and the second one for the 2nd power supply in each unity chassis.  Does that make sense?  It's hard to follow the ac cabling in the rats nest they left.

Do Unity MediaNet 5 chassis have two power supply that both work in parallel?  That would explain that if only one supply is getting fed by one ups I brought back up it is overloaded and needs the second independent ups to feed the other power supply in each chassis.

I forgot to add on the older unit that has a Test Button on the front panel will power up the unity drives when the Test Button is pressed and the drives have power for about 15 seconds then they go dead again.  Given I can't seem to trigger the self test mode on the more modern units I can't tell if they would behave the same but the modern units do say in the menu self test passed when I scroll around.

This seems like it should just be a simple reset but off course it's Friday with a dead line for a watchdown.
