So I decided to run a couple of quick tests. Here are some of the result I am getting:

Then export same-as-source and that's usually faster than realtime. Be sure to set your contrast correctly in the export settings.Exporting un-mixed-down video uses the QuickTime engine which is ancient now.________________________Greg HusonSecret Headquarters, IncGreg (at) SecretHQ.com

Sonnet box works great for Avid card, all drives and hubs working fine. Running MC 8.6.5 and all very responsive and renders are quick.
But….
Exports are taking forever if they go at all. I have a 9 minute sequence DNX 220. Normally in the old days (about five weeks ago) It would export to any drive and take a few minutes at most. Now that same sequence runs 20 minutes and still is only 70% done. Often I get a failed error.
Anyone run into this on the newer macs or when using SATA and thunderbolt drives?
Resorting to mixdown and will try that to see if I have any luck. QT reference won't work because I used AMA media which was all transcoded but doesn't seem to matter to Avid.
thanks
