Does the crash happen at the same place (on the progress bar) every time you export or mixdown?

If so, have you tried to 'divide and conquer'? (i.e. export/mixdown only sections of your timeline until you narrow it down to the clip(s) that are causing the crash.)

After humming along for years I've been having the most incredible computer problems I've ever encountered. And all while working on deadlines . First, the HDOne dies, then the replacement HDOne dies, then I start getting kernel panics on start up. I upgrade MC to latest and get lots of spinning balls and now, after hobbling along today to get this done for client…I can't export. I crash every time. I did a mix down of video and still crashed. Ran all the diagnostics which I do now 4 times a day, and drive seems fine. Avid also crashes on boot up first time. Second time the app opens. I have an new user in Avid and on my boot drive. Still can't export.

desperate for suggestions. I need to get this timeline out.
